What We Do

NSAP drives impact in the Autism Profession with two engines:

Standards

Defines what counts:

Establishing competencies and standards, identifying outcomes measurement protocols, and developing guidelines that support ethical, effective interactions, services, and care for autistic individuals and their families.

Influence

Makes it matter:

Advocating for Autism Professionals and the people we serve, influencing policy decisions at the highest levels, aligning payers and systems, and shaping workforce expectations.

For too long, we have operated in silos.

We are the cross-disciplinary professionals – clinicians, educators, therapists, researchers, policymakers, specialists, innovators, and advocates – passionately dedicated to serving autistic individuals and their families across every stage of life. We share one powerful, unwavering purpose:

To shape truly meaningful, life-changing outcomes that honor each person's unique strengths and unlock their fullest potential.

But these silos have fragmented our field. Our individual voices – rich with hard-won expertise and compassion – have been scattered and lost amid the noise.

NSAP unites us with the strength of numbers and the unstoppable power of one clear, authoritative voice – OUR voice.

Together, we become a bold, unified force – advocating fiercely for our profession and, most importantly, championing the rights, support, and brilliant futures of the autistic individuals and families we serve with deep commitment and pride.

Our Purpose

Autistic individuals and their families deserve far more than fragmented care.

They deserve a future supported by a profession united in excellence — defined by clear, shared standards, demonstrated competence, and unwavering accountability that we, the Autism Professionals, establish for ourselves. No longer will our field be shaped by external financial interests or mandates that fail to honor each person's unique strengths, challenges, and journey.

Instead, we are building something different — a true professional home where standards are crafted by clinicians, educators, therapists, researchers, policymakers, specialists, and advocates who live this work every day.

NSAP is where the field comes together to amplify impact.

Here, we create governance that is genuinely inclusive, where every voice has real power to shape our direction and our impact. Together, our collective authority, knowledge, and advocacy become something exponentially greater than what any of us could achieve alone — all of it hyper-focused on one thing: delivering truly transformative, individualized outcomes that change lives and empower families across the lifespan.

This is our purpose: to elevate our profession with integrity, amplify our unified voice, and provide the outstanding, person-centered support that autistic individuals and their families have always deserved.

Now is the time to become a unified force.

Together, we rise — not only as professionals,
but as a bold, unified force for meaningful,
life-changing impact.
